I just don’t understand it, in Brighton my show was 70% right, so I thought I corrected the other 30% but I seem to have lost another 30%. I really gave the show everything today, lost of gusto but I just couldn’t win them back. Lost half my audience; one core group really enjoyed it, the others didn’t, some talked all the way through it, others walked out.

Modern Man, Happy Shopper, Hitler and Ventriloquist didn’t work, Cultured Man did. I just can’t win. Interestingly the small bit of audience participation I have in my show keeps working well. Amazing. A stupid little joke.

I love making “the crazy”, giving people something “different” but I feel I’ve gone waaaaay too far the other way. But, then again, this is what the free fringe was all about, experimenting. It’s better to try hard and fail now, or as I prefer to say “fail small, don’t fail big”. I’d rather make my mistakes now.

I’m gonna stop telling you how much I’m making on the bucket, I’ll just explain it in consumer terms. So today I’m treating myself to… a pint, a coffee and some biscuits. :-) Success.
